The DBT Advanced Class will focus on increasing strategic and conceptual skills and competence in DBT Individual therapy. This is a unique opportunity for DBT therapists delivering comprehensive DBT, toreceive bespoke training based on their own cases and requested DBT teaching topics. Drs Michaela Swales & Heidi Heard, both with extensive experience in training, consultation and supervision in DBT, will provide two days of training and consultation based on material submitted by participants in the class.
Participants in the class must each submit a case conceptualisation of one of their own individual DBT clients and can request up to three topics that they would like to discuss further. Guidance on what to include in the case conceptualization will be provided on acceptance of the participant’s application.
This workshop will count towards DBT teaching hours from recognised DBT trainers for those therapists interested in accreditation as a DBT therapist with the Society for DBT in the UK and Ireland.
- Member of a DBT team applying comprehensive DBT. The class will not provide consultation on issues arising from providing a less than comprehensive program or lower doses of treatment.
- Completed 10 days of Intensive Level Training (which includes the Foundation plus Upgrade
- training). Applicants who have attended the 5 day Foundation only or are members of a DBT team not providing a comprehensive DBT programme will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Participants must submit the required material by the deadline. Otherwise they will be required to bring copies of their case material for all class participants.
