Dialectical Behaviour Therapy for Children

About the Course
In partnership with The Comprehensive Training Center, biDBT are pleased to offer the DBT-C workshop. Designed and delivered by Dr Francheska Perepletchikova, an internationally recognized creator and researcher of DBT-C, this training provides clinicians with tailored, clinically validated tools for working with the child’s caregivers, the child, and the adults in the child’s extended environment.
This training is delivered in an on-demand asynchronous format, including a two-month time limit (60 days) to complete each Part, six months of live consultation between Parts 1 and 2 (one session per month), role play and Q&A resource libraries, handouts, full technical support.
You’ll learn to address key clinical targets such as severe emotion dysregulation, dysphoric mood, impulsivity, self-harm risk, and behavioural dyscontrol, while empowering caregivers to cultivate validating, change-ready environments. The curriculum is anchored in empirical research and real-world clinical application, ensuring you can immediately integrate DBT-C into your professional practice.
This course is ideal for clinicians who have foundational DBT training and who aim to deliver DBT-C interventions at a high standard. By program completion, you’ll gain both a robust clinical framework and the ongoing support network needed to implement DBT-C effectively.

Supporting Resources/ Materials
To supplement individual treatment, DBT-C clinicians can refer their parent/caregiver clients to Dr. Perepletchiokova’s parent training component called Superparenting.
Superparenting is a two-part informational course intended to provide knowledge, resources, and strategies to parents and caregivers of children and adolescents experiencing emotional dysregulation and corresponding behavioral dyscontrol.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy for children emphasizes the caregivers’ role in improving a child’s level of functioning and views caregivers’ adaptive responding as one of the main mechanisms of change; this course is intended to strengthen and equip caregivers with the skills they may need to help their sensitive children improve their level of functioning.
