Psychologist Dr. Marsha Linehan

After more than four decades of revolutionary research and the development of dialectical behavioural therapy, Dr. Marsha Linehan retired in Spring 2019.

To honour Dr. Linehan’s dedication, service and impact within the global community in the field of psychology, the UW Department of Psychology has launched a new philanthropic campaign. A legacy that is it’s very first for a female in the department, the Dr. Marsha Linehan Endowed Chair in Psychology.

We all agree at British Isles DBT Training, that this is a fitting way to celebrate Dr. Linehan’s brilliant work and contribution to the field of psychology and the many individuals she has helped “build lives worth living”.

To show our support, we have recently donated a huge $64,000, the first international donation for the UW Department.

Learn more about Dr. Marsha Linehan’s journey and the development of DBT here, with two new lectures in her honour.
